JC,

The main parameter that is missing in the syndrome equation is the fact Arabs so far have been caught in a metastable state or political ambivalence, that is Arabs do not know whether to be Moslems first or Secular Nationalists, or perhaps how to separate between the two. So far the only Arab country that seems to be on the right track is Tunisia! There are tons of publications on that issue and how it fissured the Arab World. A simple example is Algeria!
